Questions on Mac interface

I am still trying to get used to the new Mac version and as a long time user, I find it somewhat challenging. I never used the "X" extension that came out a few years ago and instead used the classic browser extension which was great. I am trying to understand the difference between using 1Password from the system tray at the top versus the browser extension. I recently installed that the other day. It seems as though when I try to ask 1PW to autofill a known site, like fastmail.com, I have to click on the system tray, followed by the login and then click auto fill. It will autofill the username and password but not the OTP on the next page BUT if I try the browser extension, it seems to work well. Am I missing something here? It seems like the autofill feature does not work when you have multiple logins for one site AND require a OTP to be filled in.

    Can someone help?

Which version of 1Password are you using? You mentioned the classic extension so I would assume 1Password 7. Can you confirm? Which OS are you working with? Providing these details during your initial post will help us get you an answer quicker.

You have confused me. 1Password can fill multiple logins and OTP. The classic extension is no longer receiving updates. I would encourage you to try 1Password in the browser. You could be encountering and issue there.

    Tommy-

Sorry for any confusion here. I will try and sum up my issue more clearly.

When I go to a website (i.e. fastmail.com, my email provider) where I have more than one login for the site, 1PW will not autofill my OTP code without having to open up the app from the system tray and manually copying the code and pasting it. If I use the browser extension in Firefox, it fills perfectly but not in the 1PW app.

Does that make sense? I am running 1PW 8 and the latest MacOS

Odd, and it sure sounds like a pain. I love my totp filling. I don't know how I ever lived without it.

Are you on the production channel as in stable release? I am unable to replicate this on the current beta. I tried both Safari and Chrome in my testing. Do you happen to have any ad blockers installed? If so, I would suggest trying without them being active.

    • I was able to fill in both browsers using the inline menu, universal autofill, and the browser button.

    Moving over to Firefox:

    • Same result.
Notes: I tried to replicate with two signed-in accounts (simultaneously).

Another user here in the community is reporting filling problems with a 3rd party app and Fastmail. I can't help but think there has to be some connection but where that lies I do not know. Have you tried creating a new login to see if that resolves the trouble?

Save a login manually in your browser
