1Password 8 | vaults, categories, sorting, linking

I use 1Password a very long time. I was always very happy with the interface but this changed with version 8. I know that sometimes functions have to be deleted to make other things better but at the moment I hate the intereface everay time I open it. Lots of features has been deleted and others has been made worse.

Multiple vaults
I have one vault for my general/private things, one for business, one for other things and one for data of other users where I manage their IT infrastructure. Since version 8 the categories are more handled like filters. I can list the categories on the left hand menu but then all e.g. Logins for all vaults are displayed. When I switch to another vault the view is set to "all categories" and I have to set a category-filter again. Less overview, more clicking, simplay unpractical.

Linking entires
Until version 8 it was possible to link several entires, so everything related to each other could be connected. When you opened an entry, you was able to see the other related entires below. Imagine you have a server, this uses a user account and a root account, it contains databases, some applications etc.
So you have for:

• Server entry containing IP and accounts
• Database entry
• Login entry for e.g. PHPmyAdmin
• Login entry for e.g. Plex
• Login entry for e.g. Nextcloud

It was possible to link all this entries so you can easily find the next realted thing without searching.

Sorting information
In the past it was possible to sort data inside an entry. So you could reorder URLs or other things. This option has also been removed. If you now have to sort something new, you can add additional lines and copy/delete informaiton until it is sorted the right way.

Please bring back some of the features, especially the sorting and the better view for multiple vaults and their categories.

It would definitely make sense to have the categories persist when changing vaults. While I can't promise anything, I'll share your thoughts as a feature request!

Linking items

You can definitely still do this in 1Password 8. Edit the item, and choose add more, then Link to a related item:
