Accented characters in 1Password 8 search: bug?

I think that is a bug.

I have an item entitled MédecinDirect. I want to cross-link to it from another entry, so I open the (target) entry for editing, click on the search box for finding potential cross-referenced items to locate MédecinDirect. However, I cannot type "Méde..." only "M´ede...". Indeed, my keyboard is a US one, and the standard way of typing a (French) "é" character is to type "Option-E E", which yields the accented character.

Note that searching in the "usual" search box works fine. I do not know whether the bug is restricted to the cross-link search, I have not explored it fully.
