Safari Extension problems after 1Password 8 install then revert to 7

Hey, I updated to 1Password 8 and the Safari extension and all my logins disappeared except for the few online ones. I couldn't see a way to import from my backups so I reverted to 1P 7 and deleted the 1P 8 for Safari extension. But now when I try to activate the 1P 7.9.5 extension in Safari Preferences it flickers a few times in Safari then disappears. Tried several times but no luck ... Thanks for any advice.

    1. Draft an email to support+x@1Password.com, with a link to this discussion so that we know it's you and have all the info in one place.
    2. Create a diagnostic report from your 1Password 7 app, and attach it to that email. This will help us confirm the nature of the problem and speed up the time to resolution.

    Once we have that from you, we can open an investigation and get things going.

    That's great, thanks. I looked at the diagnostic report and it confirms that "The code signature of /Applications/1Password 7.app is invalid," whatever that means, but I'm uncomfortable sending all the generated info through regular email. Can u point me in the right direction of a fix? I'm okay with nuking the app and starting over since this is not my main computer.

    Understood, and no problem. Thank you for verifying that our intuitions were correct about the nature of the error. It's OK if you don't want to share that info over email, of course - the choice is always yours, and we respect it.

    Reviewing your post again, I noticed that you mention that when you upgraded, you didn't see all your logins. For that reason, I would suggest reaching out by email to a different 1Password team, whom you can reach at support+tradein@1Password.com. They can advise you on how to make sure all your data is in your 1Password account, and that way it will show up properly no matter whether you're using 1Password 7 or 8.

    We can also loop in team members who can provide you with steps to fix that code signature issue as well. 👍
