1Password 8. Why does it keep popping up to the foreground every time I click on something?
Maybe I missed something. I just upgraded to 8 a couple of days ago after erasing/reinstalling on my external hd. Downloaded, installed and it seemed alright for a few moments. Now the 1Password window keeps jumping to the front of the display nearly every time I click something on a web page? Really, really annoying. This is not restricted to sites where there may be some kind of login screen. Literally every page I go to the 1Pword 8 main window jumps to the front. I've nearly archived 2 logins, which I use very often, simply because it popped up when I was typing something. Any ideas as to what might be causing this?

OS Version: macOS 12.5

Hi @jdiv726, thank you for raising this issue. This certainly doesn't sound like what I'd expect, and I'll be happy to learn more about it so we can help.
You mentioned:
Literally every page I go to the 1Pword 8 main window jumps to the front.
To make sure I understand correctly: is this the 1Password 8 for Mac app (the full desktop app), or is it the browser extension (the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar) that jumps to the front of your screen?
Whatever the case, we of course want you to be able to invoke 1Password when you need it and have it stay out of the way when you don't. Thanks again for letting us know about this - I'll look forward to your reply.

Hi,
I have the same problem here on the 2 different MacBookPro, one i7-2019, one in M1Pro.
My only work around is to quit 1Password and relaunch it.
It happens at least once a day.Next Time it happens I'll record the screen.

I was able to reproduce the issue.
It happens with 2 1Password paid accounts, 1 vault in each.
When one account/vault is unlocked but not to other, I use the drop down selector (top left), select the account locked (with the corresponding icon) and unlock the 2nd account. From there, 1Password UI dissapear in the background upon any click I can do. The click is not account for like copy a password/OTP doesn't actually copy, it does nothing.1Password for Mac 8.7.3

Interesting. I have not personally seen this behavior. So thanks for sharing what worked for you. Maybe it will help others too.
The only thing I noticed is I am using 12.4 along with Safari 2.3.6. Oh I am also on our nightly. Out of curiosity on my part can you check for updates to 1Password for Safari? Does that help? If things are working for you that's great. it has been a few days since we last heard from you.

I am also having the "jumps to forefront" issue with the Desktop app. Essentially the app is continually asking to unlock (although I think I'm not doing anything to trigger that).

I'm sorry to hear that 1Password is randomly jumping to the foreground. Can you try restarting your Mac to see if that resolves the issue for you? If it doesn't then I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:

I'm on 1Password for Mac 8.9.9 (80909006) now. This seems to not be happening anymore.

I just updated last weekend and am seeing the foregrounding behavior on MacOS 11.7.1 and 1Password for Mac 8.9.8 (80908009). (A newer version of MacOS is not available for my hardware.)

I still have the same Problem.
Just in Chrome? Is it extension related?I am on 1Password for Mac 8.10.3

Check to make sure Chrome is not in the middle of an update. I had one a few days ago. Once it updates fully quit the browser and then full quit 1Password by looking for our helper in the menu bar right-clicking it and then selecting quit. Wait just a few seconds and then open 1Password and unlock followed by your browser.
