Safari extension takes minutes to stop spinning to allow p/w entry.

in Browsers (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, etc.)

When Safari has been closed, the 1P extension locks. When I click on the icon, a window opens but it takes minutes most times before the wheel stops spinning and a field displays to accept my password. Is there a way to keep the extension from locking?
