  • Hello @IdeaQueen! 👋

I'm sorry to hear that 1Password for Safari is not working. Can you tell me what happens when you try to install 1Password for Safari from the Mac App Store? Do you see an error message? Does 1Password for Safari not appear in either your Applications folder or Safari itself?

If you've installed 1Password for Safari but don't see the extension then please try these steps:

    1. Make sure you are running the latest version of 1Password 8 for Mac.
    2. Open 1Password 8 for Mac.
    3. Click the Help menu and choose Troubleshooting, followed by Fix Missing Safari Extension.

This will rebuild the launch services database and allow you to enable 1Password under Safari > Preferences > Extensions. I look forward to hearing from you. 🙂

Well....guess what it worked, except it also shows the 1 pw itself as an extension and a Webex extension was turned off. Hope this works. It does show up in the menu. Weirdly, I installed the Safari extension about 12teen times with no luck!

Thanks and now I feel dumb! Dunno, did not see the trouble shooting under help before. Had a separate software package with that. I do see the efficiencies you have gained, but not so clear to people using since 2013.... different pathways.
    Much gratitude.

On behalf of Dave, you're welcome.

No need to feel dumb. We're all learning as we go and those craft developers are always adding new abilities.

except it also shows the 1 pw itself as an extension

In my screenshot 1Password 7 is present as well as the extension. I have it installed for helping other users with support requests. We recommend having only a single version installed for most users. If 1Password 7 were not present on my system it would be missing from the section. Is this what you see? If so, you likely have a copy of 1Password 7 on your system.
