Associate 2FA Mac App prompt to 1Password record?

I use a VPN client that prompts for a 2FA code. How can I tell 1Password to automatically fill that in when I press CMD-\ ? Right now it always fills the password. I know that I can do CMD-SHIFT-C and CMD-V but it's a lot of extra keypresses.
