Hello, testers! We have some BIG news for you in this week's TestFlight release: Introducing Tips, a new item on the home screen to provide you with tips & tricks for 1Password 8! Tips will help you to set up the Safari extension, learn about the home screen, and we have more to come. Because Tips are just another item type you can position them wherever you like on your home screen.

We have also polished up a lot of areas throughout the app, particularly with the home screen and general interaction. We hope you really notice the difference in this release. Be sure to check out the changelog below to see all the improvements!

Here are this week's most notable improvements:

  • Introducing Tips — a new item on the home screen to provide you with tips & tricks for 1Password 8.
  • Sort Favorites by created date (newest first) and filter out archived items.
  • A single tap on a field in Item Details now performs the default action (copy for most fields, open for URLs, etc). Long press on the field to see more options.
  • The prompt for Touch ID/Face ID is now consistent when returning from the background.
  • If AutoFill is disabled, the instructions to enable it are now shown in Settings > AutoFill.
  • The account switcher no longer dismisses itself on first tap in the AutoFill extension.
  • The home screen received new icons and lots of polish.
  • Fixed restoring an item edit that was in progress.
  • 1Password now asks for System Notification permissions. To enable, go to the in-app Settings, then Notifications, and toggle One-Time Passwords off and back on.
  • Fixed the positioning of empty state images in the Item Detail and Watchtower views.
  • The Item Detail toolbar buttons looked disabled in light mode, and now they do not.
  • Watchtower cards no longer wrap when values have 4 or more digits.
