All entries duplicated when I upgraded to version 8

Like the title says, I upgraded a while back from version 7 to version 8, and the result was all of my entries were duplicated. I should have dealt with that right away, but I thought for some reason that my local and remote vaults were both still being used.

At this point, a number of entries are out of synch, and it's not clear which are the latest entries and which are not.

Any way to fix this without going through hundreds of entries one at a time and deleting the duplicates?
