My phone was wiped and when I added 1Password to my phone is asking for MFA, however, it was deleted. Is there a way to resent the MFA

  • Hello @timsennett,

I'm sorry to hear about your phone. There's a few things you can try to reset the MFA on your account:

    • If you've added your account to any other 1Password apps, you may be able to turn off two-factor authentication for yourself from inside one of those apps (if two-factor isn't enforced as part of a team or business account): https://support.1password.com/two-factor-authentication/#if-you-lose-access-to-your-authenticator-app

    • If you can still sign into the account on 1Password.com (or .ca or .eu) in a browser without being prompted for an authentication code, you can replace the existing two-factor authenticator app with a new one. On your profile page, navigating to "More Actions" > "Manage Two-Factor Authentication" would present you with the option to replace the authenticator app entirely: https://start.1password.com/profile/2fa

    • If you're a member of a multi-member 1Password account (1Password Families, 1Password Teams or 1Password Business), and there's an account owner or administrator who can still sign in, they can help you out by going through the account recovery process. This process is normally used if a user loses or forgets their sign-in details, as it lets you choose a new account password and assigns you a new Secret Key, but it will also turn off two-factor authentication. If there's an account owner or administrator who can sign in, you can ask them to take you through the account recovery process: https://support.1password.com/recovery/

Let me know if any of those work for you. If you're still having trouble, email support@1password.com or contact Us so we can review your account and discuss next steps.

    Thank you,
