iPad and Mac not showing same vault items
I have 1Password (7.9.7) on my iPad (15.6) and iPhone(15.6) but my list of Logins on the iOS devices is NOT up to date with the 1P 8.8 list on my Mac (12.5). This is a big deal !
What is happening?
1Password Version: 8.8
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: macOS 12.5

I discovered this today when I created a new Login item on the Mac and it hasn't appeared on iPhone or iPad.

Hi @ozarkcanoer:
Are you signed into a 1Password account on all of your devices? If you're seeing different list of items, it's possible that you have a standalone vault on your iPad and iPhone, but not on your Mac, as 1Password 8 only supports 1Password memberships. Let me know, and I can take a closer look.

I thought all three were signed onto my Family 1P account.
On iPad if I check Accounts it shows the sign-in address and shows "Subscribed"
Would you take a closer look?0 -
@Jack.P_1P MY ERROR; I did not have the Logins category sorted the same on all three devices. When I changed so all used 'date modified' everything is OK, except for one login created today that is missing on my iPad and iPhone. Sorry for the alarm. Why just the most recent missing on the two iOS devices?

@Jack.P_1P I created a new login on my iPad(1P 7) and it shows up on my iPhone(1P 7) but not on my Mac (1P 8). now that I have had time to review all three using the same sort order for Logins I can see that the Mac is missing logins that were updated in July, June, May, and earlier in the list shown on iOS devices. This is not good. I do not know what to do to get ONE vault used by all devices. My last OK comment is wrong.
When getting on 1P v8 on Mac for a while I was on the BETA channel, then went to the Production channel.

Hi @ozarkcanoer:
In that case it's likely you're using a standalone vault on your iPhone and iPad, but not your Mac. So we can take a closer look at the state of your devices, and make sure all of your information is as you expect in your 1Password account, I'd like to ask you to create some diagnostics reports, one from each of your devices:
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to
support+forum@1password.com
.With your email please include:
- A link to this thread: https://1password.community/discussion/comment/650895#Comment_650895
- Your forum username:
ozarkcanoer
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

Generated and sent the diagnostics reports (3) as requested as separate emails.
received only one support ID:
[#SXJ-18579-953]
I don't know for which diagnostics file it is for or why I didn't get two more supportIDs? I couldn't think how to have only one email with the three separate devices diagnostics. Let me know if I need to redo.
thanks,

Hi @ozarkcanoer:
I was able to locate them all. We'll take a look, and be in touch soon. Keep an eye out!

@Jack.P_1P Apologize if I made it difficult for you to get all three.
I see 1P 8 is available for iOS now. Should I hold off on installing on iPad and iPhone?

Hey @ozarkcanoer:
No problem, they were all easily found. Since 1Password 8 doesn't support standalone vaults, holding off on 1Password 8 on your iPhone and iPad would be best for the time being. Once we've confirmed that all your items are as you expect and stored in your 1Password account, then you can install 1Password 8 on your iPhone and iPad.
Keep an eye out for our response!

@Jack.P_1P May have solution - 'he says again', I found that the login I created on 8/8/2022 on macOS 1P 8.8 was only in a Personal vault (only me) instead of the vault shared between my wife and I. Moving it to our shared vault made it appear on iPhone and iPad. I think I may be ok but will check some other items - may have made same error on them.

@Jack.P_1P I did find items in my Personal vault in 1P 8.8 on macOS. I've moved the items to our shared vault.
I will have to figure out why I'm creating items in my Personal vault; maybe just no paying attention to what vault is being used when I add a new item. Have any hints on that issue?
I believe - finally that I now have no problems other than correctly seeing what vault is used when creating new items.
If you have found some problem, let me know. Sorry for you doing work on this for what appears to be "user error". And I've been a user of 1P on Mac for a very long time.

@Jack.P_1P I've successfully upgraded to 1P 8 for iPadOS.
Looks like I have to delete the 1P v7 from my iPad as I see the old icon and a new icon. Done.
Happy to have 1P 8 on iPad. Next to my iPhone.0 -
@Jack.P_1P I have updated to 1P 8 on iOS for my iPhone and deleted the old app.
I haven't found a way to set the default vault to use when creating new items. Is that possible on 1P 8 on the three different OSs?
Everything seems to be working fine with v8. Yea!

And I updated my wife’s iPad Air to 1Password 8 also. Working fine.

Hi @ozarkcanoer,
Thanks for all the great updates, I'm glad to hear things are going smoothly! 🎉
Regarding a default vault when creating a new item, there isn't an explicit setting to do this but the app will adapt based on where in 1Password you are. For example, if you're already browsing items in a given vault and you select
+ New Item
, that new item will default to the current vault. If you're not in any one particular vault, new items will default to your Private vault. Either way, you'll always have the option to select a different vault while making the new item.I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions. 🙂

Thank you for the description of 1P 8 current behavior. I will try to be more aware of the vault new items get stored in to avoid the issue I experienced.
