1P Safari extension going crazy on Amex SafeKey site

Hi,
today I was shopping online and I was using PayPal to use my Amex card to pay. This purchase triggered Amex SafeKey to show up and when this site, which seems to be embedded inside PayPals site, is displayed, the 1Password extension is going crazy, i.e. it seems to try to display itself in the input fields for the SMS code and the PIN entry field that's following. However this seems to fail and the page reloads which ultimately results in the payment failing and you have to start over. I could only complete the purchase after I had disabled the 1P extension.

I know there's a lot of seems and maybes in this post, but as you can imagine, it's not easy to reproduce, because I don't buy stuff online all the time :)
Anybody else seen this behaviour? Any hints on what to do when this happens again?
