Google login error: "Suspicious programmatic login"

Options

I was doing some work with Google Accounts today and Google said "We can't allow you to login as we can't verify your account" (this was for something specific as I was logged in successfully on another tab).

I then had an e-mail from Google which says:

This Suspicious programmatic login alert is to inform you that there was a suspicious programmatic login that was blocked by Google. To help keep Google Accounts through work, school, or other groups more secure, we block the use of less secure apps. However, if the ‘Allow less secure apps’ setting has been overridden, logins through less secure apps are permitted.

The "less secure app" seems to be Chrome with login info being autofilled by 1Password.

I've gone on and deleted the offending account so I'm not able to reproduce the error, but I wanted to share in case Google is "watching" extensions that autofill passwords.

Google wouldn't let me verify via 2nd factors (neither alternative e-mail or text to cellphone), so that login was a dead end.
