Please release 1Password 8 on Mac App Store
I'd like to echo the other calls to release the Mac version of the 1P 8 client on the Mac App Store.
Our organization deploys 1P via Apple's Volume Purchasing Program (VPP), which is a simple and easy way to distribute applications to client devices. 1Password was one of the only enterprise grade password management solutions that offered this capability (Dashlane and Bitwarden are others).
Previously, as is the case for any app available in the App Store, this would have been a few clicks to deploy out to users via our MDM console. Now, with version 8, as the app is no longer available on the App Store, it is now more difficult and time-consuming to deploy this app to end users.
We don't currently have any plans to deploy version 8 as we'll need to dedicate staff time to creating a deployment package, scripting the install, and pushing this out to devices.
I am a big proponent of the application - it's thoughtfully designed, robust, and a pleasure to use. However, this decision seems like a step backward and I truly hope 1Password will reconsider their decision to not make this available via the Mac App Store. I've signed up for the mailing list and will keep my fingers crossed.
