New Tab Spam Issue
Hello, I'm having an issue with the 1Password browser extension and wasn't sure if anyone else is experiencing the same or knows how to resolve. When I go to a site to register or change my password, I click the 1Password icon or extension to generate a password but I get asked to login to 1Password in a new tab. That's perfectly fine except... it keeps spam opening new login tabs repeatedly and will not stop unless I click the browser extension and click lock.
The same issue happens when I login to the 1Password desktop app on Mac, it opens a new browser window repeatedly. This is on latest 8.8.0.
Here is a screenshot:
This is extremely annoying & would love some help! Thanks.
1Password Version: 8.8.0
Extension Version: 2.3.7
OS Version: macOS Monterey (12.5)
Browser:_ Chrome

Hi @ZachD:
By any chance, do you have two-factor authentication enabled for your 1Password account?
If you do, please follow these steps after making sure you have a copy of your Emergency Kit handy:
- Log in to 1Password.com with your account details. Use the following guide to turn off two-factor authentication on your account:
- Right click on the 1Password icon in the browser’s toolbar.
- Select Settings. Under the General section, disable the Integrate with 1Password app setting.
- Scroll down to the “Accounts & vaults” section, and sign out of your account there.
- Open & unlock the 1Password desktop app.
- Re-enable two-factor authentication for your 1Password account following the guide from step 1
- You should be prompted to perform two-factor authentication in the 1Password app.
- Re-add your account to 1Password in Chrome (from step 4).
- Restart your computer.
- Open and unlock the 1Password desktop app, then open Chrome and turn on "Integrate with 1Password app" from step 3.
Let me know if that works, or if you're still having trouble.
Jack
