In both browsers, when I click on Extension, I have the "Open 1Password" button which I click on and nothing happens. Doesn't save any password credentials I enter on websites. I am running on a MAC M1 system. I tried removing and re-installing extension, relaunching browser and even rebooting macbook and nothing...it doesn<t work.

1Password Version: 8.8.0
Extension Version: 2.3.7
OS Version: macOS 12.5.1
Browser:_ Chrome & Safari

I just noticed that there is a black padlock icon on the extensions in both browsers....can't figure out how to unlock it. How do I unlock the 1Password extension in the browsers?

  • Welcome to the 1Password Support Community @jfanizzi,

Sorry to hear the 1Password browser extensions aren't behaving as expected. If you click the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar, where the black padlock is, are you asked for your account password? Does entering it help the situation?

Let me know what you find and we can go from there. 🙂

Same here. This is the situation @andrew.l_1P :

    • 1password appears to be installed in AppStore
    • 1password not showing up as extension in Safari (Version 15.6.1 (17613.3.9.1.16))
    • 1password would be the only extension installed - but as said, it does not show up
    • Removed "1password for Safari" from /Applications and re-downloaded it
    • Disabled / Re-Enabled "Connect with 1password in the Browser" in 1password (8.8.0)
    • Restarted Safari, restarted Mac (Mini, M1)
    • OS 12.5.1

    Lost
