None of the browser extensions working - follow up
Hello!
Been using 1Password for probably 10 years now (non-subscription version). I upgraded to the family subscription for the first time today and already deeply regret making this jump.
Long story short, I can't get the browser extension to go past "Open 1Password" prompt on Safari or Chrome.
Tried uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting, emptying cache. Googled for a potential solutions for 2 hrs, and none of them work.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Follow up with 1Password tech support
Tommy from 1Password had me do the following:
Let's try the following steps to make sure here are no communication troubles. With you including the screenshot from Safari, it's likely Safari is the most used browser for you. Let's see if we can get you going there first.
Turn off - 1Password > Preferences > Browser: Connect with 1Password in the browser
Right-click on the browser toolbar icon and disable. Integrate with 1Password app. It's within the General tab.
Quit the browser completely! A full quit, not a close or minimize to the dock.
Quit 1Password. While looking at the main window (locked or unlocked)
Press Command and Q 1Password should lock and close.
Wait a few seconds and then open 1Password from the Dock or the Applications folder and unlock. 1Password should open locked. Unlock the app.
Turn On - 1Password > Preferences > Browser: Connect with 1Password in the browser
Open your browser.
Right-click on the browser toolbar icon and enable. Integrate with 1Password app.
The above did not work and I'm getting passed to specialist who deal with the extensions in a more in depth role.
Anyone facing similar issues?
1Password, please don't close this thread. The support turnaround time is too slow and I'd like the community's help as an addition. This is really messing up my workflow and it's been like this for 4 days now.
1Password Version: 8.8.0
Extension Version: 2.3.7
OS Version: 12.5.1

Hey folks,
We're looking into the issue. If any of you have not sent in support requests, I would recommend doing so. Mainly because each users issues could be different and talking with each of you could help narrow down the cause. Please email us using
support+forum@1password.com
. Be sure to use the email address tied to the account in question.I sent your support request to the extensions team. They should be following up with you. 🙂

I absolutely sympathise with the frustration. David Teare talked about 1P8 as though it was the best thing since slice bread. I’ve been a 1P user for years and recently decided to change to a membership. I bitterly regret it but I am still within my first two weeks. I am glad I am retired because I have the time to try and sort through all the petty issues this half baked product produces. I have these problems with Safari. I’ve also found another annoying issue. It always reverts to suggestions even though I have selected Favorites. It reverts to one vault when all my data is in a different one. Neither issue exists in the Windows version. Trying to log into a site on either an Iphone or an IPad is a hit or miss affair and trying to select the tiny safari extension button when using an iPhone is not easy. Why they moved from the perfectly good system we had with 1P7 is a mystery to me. I’m going to stick with it for a while but may well revert to my Stand Alone v7 unless I can get a great deal more comfortable than I am now.

I would really appreciate it 1Password does NOT close this thread. So folks with this problem can just sympathize with each other lol.
Yea... this is really painful. I'm copy-pasting my password every time I have to login.
Very much regretting making the jump, but I hope 1Password dev team can fix/patch it quickly.
It really sounds like a critical issue to me.
Just a reminder, for me, it happens on Safari and Chrome. So sounds like a multi-browser issue.

Support got back to me with the following request!
Our team is currently looking into similar reports to what you're encountering with 1Password in your browser, therefore, I would like to ask you to re-create the issue and provide two pieces of diagnostic information from your device in order to take a closer look:
A diagnostic from the 1Password app -> How to send a 1Password diagnostics report
https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/?macA console log from 1Password in the browser -> Save a console log for 1Password in your browser
https://support.1password.com/cs/extension-console-log/#safariPlease attach both of these reports to your next reply.
Make sure y'all send that to support if you are talking to them!
Have a great holiday weekend everyone.

New suggestion from 1password
In the meantime, the best workaround I can suggest is to use the Quick Access menu to autofill. This can be accessed using the keyboard shortcut Shift + Command + Space , or by clicking the 1Password icon in the top menu bar of macOS and selecting "Open Quick Access". If the website you're on is recognized and corresponds to an item in your 1Password account, it will be suggested to you. If you don't see an item you can type it into the Quick Access search to find it. Once the item is highlighted, it should say "Autofill" to the right. You can press Return and it will autofill the item on the webpage.
Additionally, since you're using a Mac - while on the webpage, you could use the keyboard shortcut Command + \ to use Universal Autofill. If there is only one item corresponding to the site or app, it will autofill. If there are multiple items corresponding to the site you will see the Quick Access menu pop up to allow you to select the item you would like to use.
This works for me!

Also seeing the same (or similar) issue
Stuck at login screen / desktop app integration launcher for browser extension.
Chrome: Version 105.0.5195.102 (Official Build) (64-bit)
1password Chrome extension version: 2.3.7
OS: Windows 11 Home 21H2if I disable desktop app integration I can get to the password entry field in the browser extension but it stays there after entry with the processing indicator pulsing.
After the login attempt I can see my account in settings of the browser extension as locked.
The beta version gets a little further but does not load the passwords or allow saving new ones

@DigitalToaster You should receive a support ID. Can you share that when you get it. Thanks.

I just got an email from Paul @ 1Password and they've FIXED THE ISSUE!!! Yay!
Thanks for your continued patience with this issue. 🙂
The team here has made some progress on the login troubles we're seeing. It looks like the culprit is billing-related, where the account is unintentionally stuck in a specific status and is causing sign-in issues for the browser extension. I'm sorry again for any inconvenience caused by this.
To try and remedy the extension sign-in troubles, we are able to make some changes on our end which will allow you to log back into your account at 1Password.com, and add your credit card to your 1Password account once again. I've made those changes already, so could you try the following steps to re-add your credit card to your account?
Log into your account at this link -> https://start.1password.com/signin?l=en
Click 'Billing' from the right sidebar.
Click 'Add Credit Card'.
Add your credit card details, and click 'Add Payment Method'.
Once the credit card has been added successfully, try logging back into your 1Password account in the browser extension.I did the above steps and now everything works.
@DigitalToaster , feel free to close this thread.
Thanks and good luck everyone!
