  • Hi @stevenhon,

Apologies if I'm misunderstanding the issue, this is happening in the password field of one of your saved items? I wasn't able to recreate the 1Password 8 for Mac app not recording or displaying a password that contained \\:

Could you share what steps you're taking? I'd be happy to investigate further once I get a better understanding of the situation. Looking forward to your reply!

Sorry it is not in the password field, it happens in the "notes" field

Do you experience this with Markdown formatting turned off? 📝 Format your secure notes with Markdown If I disable Markdown both appear. Are you using Markdown? If you as a workaround please try adding an extra \ as in three total. That should allow two to be shown. Turning off Markdown is also a possibility if you don't use it.

It looks normal when Markdown is disabled.
But still not ok when it is turned on. It can display the double "\" in edit mode, but only one inverted slash is displayed under view mode when markdown is turned on. Three slashes seems not working.

  • Hi @stevenhon,

It seems this is related to some less commonly used markdown features: Basic Syntax | Markdown Guide

The \ symbol "escapes" the character that immediately follows it, which in most cases means it forces the character to be displayed as it is instead of taking on its markdown form. However, when paired with itself, it appears to be hiding the \ that follows it. In my testing, to get multiple to display beside each other when markdown is turned on, you'll need to enter x2 the amount -1. So if you'd like to see 3 \s, you can enter 5. This is because the first one hides the second and the third one hides the forth. Here are some examples in and out of editing mode:

Let me know how this goes for you or if you have any questions!
