gushing feedback on version 8
I've been meaning to write this for a few weeks now. I've complained in the past about version 8 and I feel a responsibility to counter that now.
I'm fully updated to version 8 on Mac, Windows, and iPhone. I genuinely feel that these are astounding applications from usability and aesthetics points of view. I remember being disappointed that the option key was no longer supported to quickly reveal passwords (I posted asking about that). I see that there is now a preferences setting to turn that on. I also see the introduction of compact density (that was sorely needed). Collections are amazing. The subtle reorganizations have a slight learning curve but really work well for me. A number of times I've been annoyed thinking that I'd lost something basic only to find it implemented in a better way.
Now that I'm upgraded, I'm using the new browser extension. I don't have as many objections as a used to have; I'm just not encountering the issues I had a while ago. Maybe I'm just more used to it. The only remaining complaint is the wasted space and the challenge it introduces when there are many password matches for a particular website. If you could somehow conquer that (a resizable window or compact density) then the last vestiges of my discomfort would be gone.
There are certain applications that give me pleasure just starting them up. 1Password (desktop and especially iPhone) are such applications. Thanks so much for the great work. It really didn't have to be this good to keep your market share.
P.S. I reserve the right to complain bitterly about something in the future. :)
