The workflow for updating passwords is problematic

I'm experiencing all kinds of issues when it comes to updating my passwords on both desktop and iOS. If I need to update a password, there are times where 1 Password doesn't even suggest a password. I then have to go into the app, find the login, create a new password there, copy it and paste it into the browser where I'm trying to create a new password. There are other times when 1 Password does suggest a new password, and when I accept it, it also asks if I want to save it in the updated entry. I say yes to this as well, but when I now try to login, it doesn't work. The updated password doesn't seem to save. This whole process like many things in 1Password is clumsy and unreliable. What's happening, and how can I solve it so these things don't happen?
