using watchtower for selected vaults only
mac - 1pass 8
cannot find a way to restrict selection to selected vaults only
watchtower and more generally searching items SHOULD BE LIMITED to selected vault. Bad interface in 1pass 8, worse than 7 ?

Hi @Loris
Watchtower is designed to give you an overview of security in 1Password, so by default it searches all items in all vaults. If you want to limit it to a particular set of data, you can choose a single account from the chooser in the top-left corner, or make a Collection containing multiple vaults and choose that instead. Watchtower will run on whatever account or collection is chosen in the top-left corner.
☞ Use collections to create custom groups of vaults
For search, you can click a vault in the sidebar then press
⌘F
(Command–F) to search only that vault. You'll see a search filter,=vault:[name]
pre-filled in the Search box, like this:Similarly, you can limit search to one account or collection by using the chooser in the top-left corner. There's more information about what you can do with search filters here:
☞ Search 1Password to find what you need
Give those things a try and let me know how you get on. I'll be here if you need further help. :)

Hi Grey,
is seems to me that was the way before 1pass8. Now I cannot choose a Vault on the top left (accounts are a different things - i have only one account, but many vaults). With 1pass8 one has to first click on the vault and then command find, for searches. That's working. It does not work for the Watchtower, though. Cannot look into a particular vault with Watchtower, can I?
I have never used Collections; have to try them. It seems that could be a solution to use Watchtower (or search) restricting to only one, or another, or many different vaults, according to your post. You confirm?

I'm glad to hear that you were able to successfully choose a vault and search it with ⌘F. And in answer to your other question, yes, a collection will allow you to run Watchtower on (or search) a limited set of your 1Password data. If you have any questions or you run into any trouble, let me know.
