Feature: Possibility to open 1Password with simpler password?
In 1Password 7, I had a local vault on all my devices.
It was empty but I set a simpler master password in ord to avoid typing the longer master password all the time. After migrating to 1Password 8, I had to migrate the local vaults as well, and I now see no way to avoid using the very strong and difficult to type the master password over and over again. In particular, this is a needed feature for my wife who is kind of IT disabled.

Hey there @RestingViking
Your account password only needs to be at least 12 characters long and has no requirement for uppercase letters, numbers, or symbols. It may be worth considering changing it to something that's easier to enter: How to change your 1Password account password.
Depending on what device 1Password is being used on, using that device's biometrics will make unlocking 1Password a lot easier:
Mac:
iOS:
- Use Face ID to unlock 1Password on your iPhone or iPad Pro
- Use Touch ID to unlock 1Password on your iPhone or iPad
Windows:
Android:
Linux:
Let me know if you have any questions about any of the above or would like any further help. :)

Hi @GreyM1P.
This is all understood, and it confirms my understanding. We do use biometrics on devices that support it.
I feel that my previous scheme was safer because I only rarely had to use the master password. I now use it daily, especially when the computer is docked, and I am using a separate keyboard for typing. I might reduce the length of the master password to only 12 characters for convenience although I feel that it is a security compromise.
Thank you for fast feedback anyway.

Your 1Password account is still protected by your Secret Key which is separate from the account password, and anyone who wanted to access your account would need both. It's worth making sure that the password you use to unlock your computer is still strong to prevent any unauthorized access to it.
If you're using a Windows PC, you can use Windows Hello to unlock 1Password with a PIN, your existing Windows user account password, facial recognition or fingerprint. On Linux, system authentication works with the existing user password as well as other options.
Feel free to get in touch if you need anything. :)
