How to switch subscription from Google Play to 1password.com?

I have an active subscription that I started on Google Play. I'm having trouble with the renewal process (I already registered a ticket with Google support too), but I wonder if and how I can switch my subscription from Google Play directly to 1password.com.
I've read the FAQs, but there's no clarity on what must be done, except that once a membership is started as an in-app purchase, it cannot be changed.
I use both Android and iOS devices, so I think it will just be easier for me to manage the subscription directly with 1password instead of app stores.
