1password chrome extension v2.3.8 doesn't support multiple Chrome profiles

Environment:
OS: macOS Monterey (v12.6)
Default browser: Brave browser
"1Password – Password Manager" extension v2.3.8 is installed in Brave
1Password for Mac v8.9.4 is installed on my mac.

Issue:
I am able to unlock 1Password for my Brave user profile, but when we switch to my wife's Brave profile and try to unlock 1Password, clicking the blue "Open 1Password" button has no effect. As a result, she is unable to use the 1Password browser extension.

Extension Version: 2.3.8
OS Version: macOS 12.6
