Why does the desktop version of 1Password store the wrong value for https://my.1password.com/ ?
I have 1Password on Windows 10 21H2
My post relates to "initial configuration". There does not seem to be such a forum category. So using fallthrough, I ended up with "Lounge". I apologize for that. Maybe the mods could migrate it to the correct category, and notify me by email. Thanks.
I've been using LastPass for 11 years.
I'm on my second free trial of 1P. I dropped the first trial due to frustration over the initial configuration - which is a vital component of any password manager. Short-term memory issues make things more difficult for me.
A feature comparison definitely favours 1P over LP, so I'm determined to have another go.
I only want one issue per post, so here's the first issue.
I chose a strong password initially. (The software rated the password highly, but I can't remember what it said.) But it looks as if I'm going to be prompted for pwd every 10 seconds, so I wanted to change to a short baby password until I win the initial config battle. (There's likely to be only a few passwords in the vault during setup. I can delete the entire vault later, after I learn how to configure 1P - and start from zero.)
To change to a baby password, i used the original strong password to log in to:
https://my.1password.com/
The software complained about the change - but accepted.
I launched 1P using the Edge extension.
For "1Password Account", the red header shows "Weak Password". The rating is "Terrible".
I clicked "Reveal", and the baby password was exposed. I copied that password and again tried to log in to
https://my.1password.com/
Failed. Tried the original strong pwd. Accepted.
Summary:
- The 1P Edge extension thinks I'm using the new baby password for my.1password.com
But my.1password.com accepts only the original strong password for login
I would be grateful for any assistance.
Thanks

Hello @1pass38! 👋
I'm sorry to hear that you're running into some issues as you start to use 1Password. I recommend sending an email to support+forum@1Password.com so that our Concierge team can look into the account password issue and help you get started with 1Password in general. After emailing in, you'll receive a reply from BitBot, our friendly robot assistant with a Support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I'll be able to locate your message and make sure it's gotten to the right place. 🙂
