  • Hi @CalvinsPal,

With 1Password Business and Teams, each team member will have access to two vaults by default:

    • Their own Private vault which only they can access. Not even account owners or administrators will be able to view or manage this vault or its contents.
    • The default Shared vault that every team member in the account can view. This can be considered a common vault of sorts, great for storing company-wide resources that everyone would beneficial.

Additionally, team members can create other vaults and share them with colleagues and guests. Account owners and administrators can further manage these vaults and control access, including adding and revoking access to groups and users. You can read more about that in our support article linked below:

Create, share, and manage vaults in your team

Members of an account's Owners group will have full management rights to every shared and user-created vault.

Business accounts come with the ability to redeem a free family account. Each team member can redeem this and sign up for a separate family account where they can store any personal, non-work related data. This account would be considered entirely separate from the business account, and it would be under the full control of the team member.

BtW, am I correct in assuming that with 'families' there is no commonly shared vault - all are private?

DISREGARD - answer was hidden in plain sight.

  • @CalvinsPal – I'm glad to hear that Max's advice was useful. And yes, as you've found, 1Password Families accounts work in similar ways to Business and Teams accounts, in that every user gets their own Private vault and access to a Shared vault. If you have any other questions or need any more help, please let us know. :)
