If I log into a website which needs me to insert a password, although 1Password is active, the website is no longer automatically detected and I am obliged to go through the process of finding the login, username and password, then doing a copy and paste of my credentials

I have tried the following suggestion in your Knowledge Base, but it has not helped:
1. click the 1Password icon in the menu bar and choose Quit.
2. Reopen and unlock 1Password.

1Password Version: 8.9.8
Extension Version: unsure
OS Version: macOS16.0
Browser:_ safari

  • Hey there @1pwsupport

If you haven't already, make sure you have the most recent version of the 1Password browser extension installed in your web browser. There are links to each of them here:

Get started with 1Password in your browser

If you don't have 1Password in the browser installed, you can instead use Universal Autofill: Use Universal Autofill in apps and browsers on your Mac.

I look forward to hearing how you get on with the above. We'll be here if you need any more help. :)

I have followed your instructions to install the latest version of the 1Password browser extension. Also clicked on "Always Allow on Every Website". Unfortunately, I continue to experience the same problem I orginally advised. Is it possible to perhaps to send you a Screen Shot of any settings so you can determine if I have done something incorrectly. Alternatively, would you recommend that I uninstall the App on my Mac and reinstall to start afresh? Thanks.

It might be best if we help you with this by email. I don't want to risk there being anything identifiable in screenshots. If you can send us an email at support+forum@1password.com, you'll get a conversation number in a reply from BitBot; post that number here and I'll direct your email to the right team. :)
