Is my Linux 1password desktop app broke?
1) Open 1password
2) Click '+ New Item' blue button top right
3) Choose "Login" for type
4) Enter someone-who-cares-about-security at somewhere in user field
5) arrghhhh I can't enter a password masked - I can't masked it until it's entered - wtf?
Scenario: Uncomfortable to add a manual entry to 1password in coffee shop today if it's displayed in plain text to see.
Expected: input[type=password] behavior - this is an electron app after all right?
Does 1password desktop on other OS exhibit this dangerous behavior?
1Password Version: 8.9.10
Extension Version: ?
OS Version: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
Browser:_ N/A

Hey @sitepodmatt, thanks for reaching out. The behavior you described is the expected behavior across 1Password applications.
With that said, we do have an internal feature request to mask passwords by default during the password creation step. I've gone ahead and added your voice to this request to further highlight user interest.

Hi @sitepodmatt, thanks for this suggestion! I can definitely see how being able to have everything masked by default would be useful when working in public spaces, and I've gone ahead and filed a feature request for this on your behalf. If you have any further feedback, let us know!
