Setting up extension on multiple browsers issue

I use 3-4 browsers on my Mac. Each one requires me to type in my Secret Key when initializing the extension. This is a pain. Is there a better way?

    Hey @trialingpassword,

Do you have the 1Password desktop app installed?

1Password in the browser will directly integrate with your 1Password desktop app meaning if you unlock 1Password here it will unlock in your browsers too. Let me know if you'd like instructions on how to get set up or if you already have the app installed but are still having trouble so I can best advise 🙂

I have now installed the 1Password app on my Mac. Doesn't offer a password fill on Safari. Is it correct that I have to install another 1Password app for the Safari extension? No simple plug-in extension for Safari like Chrome, Firefox etc?

  • @trialingpassword,

Yes that's right, Safari works a little differently to the other browsers. You can install the extension from here: Get started with 1Password in your browser.

    I hope this helps!
