Differentiate accounts on Microsoft login

I have a few accounts from different domains that use the Microsoft login page (login.microsoftonline.com).

Is there any feature (either by configuring the URLs in 1Password or through some other feature) that would allow differentiating between these? Alternatively, is there a way to set a default to come up first, as there is one account I use much more than the others?

  • Hey @nparekh,

There are now some advanced domain matching options in the latest Beta to give you the option per item to 'Only fill on this exact domain' or 'Fill anywhere on this website'.

If you are interested in giving it a go, here are instructions on how to switch to the Beta: https://support.1password.com/betas/.

Once you have done this you can find the new options by editing an item in your 1Password app and clicking on the sort icon within the website field.

I hope this helps to achieve the behaviour you are looking for, let us know if you have any questions!

I have a similar issue. I go to https://outlook.office.com, it redirects to https://login.microsoftonline.com, and then I always have to scroll through four accounts above my Android keyboard to find the last one which has the right password. Microsoft shows the relevant email/username on the web page, so maybe 1Password for browser could scrape that info to put most relevant login at top of list. But I would guess you don't get that info on mobile, as you don't directly integrate with the browser. Not sure how it can be improved, but it would be very nice if it could.

  • Hi @nukmicah & @nparekh,

I've tested this on my Android device and I have noticed the same behavior as you've mentioned, even if I use advanced domain matching options (autofill behaviors) to only fill on the exact domain, all the suggestions are still offered for any websites that use Microsoft login with no order to the sorting of these suggestions.

I did observe if an item is added to your favorites in the 1Password for Android app that this will be the suggestion that is shown at the top of the list of autofill suggestions, so favoriting your most used logins for websites that use Micosoft login may be a useful workaround at the moment.

While I cannot guarantee if/when a function will be made available to allow differentiation between websites with Microsoft logins, I've logged a feature request with our Product team to let them know of your interest in this functionality being added to 1Password.

    I hope this helps.
