1Password offering autofill in wrong textboxes, like Github comments, 1P Community comments box etc.

See the screenshot for example -

As you can see, I'm trying to add a comment in one of the 1Password Community topics, and 1Password treats the comment box as a fillable field and offers autofill.

Same thing happens in Github issue comment boxes too.

  • Hello 1Passworder1,

Thanks for your message and sorry for the troubles. I've been able to reproduce this behaviour and narrowed this down to forums threads that contained terms like 2FA / OTP / MFA. I've reported this to the team so they can investigate further.

If you see this happening elsewhere with with other terms, please let us know!

We appreciate you reporting this to us.

    Hey @1Passworder1 !

Should be fixed in the latest beta build v2.7.0 of 1Password in the Browser.

Great. Thanks for the quick fix. I'll wait for the update to roll out. Right now I'm still at 2.6.0. (I did try the "Update" button at chrome://extensions/ but it didn't update the extension.

That's correct. The latest stable release is v2.6.0 as you can see here:

  • Hi @1Passworder1, and thanks for the reply here @DenalB!

Based on your original message, it was noted you were using Chrome. The 2.7.0 update to 1Password in the browser is available by following that link, if you aren't already on this version.

Let us know if you are having any other troubles. Thanks!

    Hey @ag_mike_d !

Thanks for pointing to that new release. When I wrote my answer, 1.6.0 was the latest stable release. My answer has overlapped with the new release. 😊

  • Not to worry, @DenalB! Automatic updates should take care of things, but I just wanted to ensure we're all on the same page in case other issues where encountered. Cheers!😊
