My 1Password Data Security

Hello.

I have to send my laptop away for repair and I am wondering what steps I can take to protect my 1password data / account without having to fully uninstall 1Password.

Will the "Sign out" option under "Manage Accounts" be sufficient? (No data left on my laptop)

Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks.

    Hi @matthew1111

As long as 1Password is locked, your data is fully encrypted, so can't be read by anyone else. You should turn off Windows Hello for 1Password so that a nefarious repair technician can't use your Windows password or PIN to unlock 1Password. Here's what to do:

    1. Open and unlock 1Password.
    2. Click the ⋮ menu > Settings.
    3. On the Security tab, turn off "Unlock using Windows Hello".

However, if you want to fuly remove your 1Password data anyway, you can follow the instructions shown here to do that:

Please let me know if you have any questions, or would like any further help. :)
