Linking addresses to credit cards

I had to fill a form today that was a credit card + billing address.
I never filled in the "extra" info in my credit card items so there's no address info there. But I suppose if it was 1Password would use it to autofill (if not, consider that a feature request as well).
What I did try was linking my existing identity item to the credit card item. I guess I was hoping 1Password would be smart enough to say "ah, you've linked an identity¹ to a credit card, so I can get the billing details from that identity". That did not seem to work. I think it would be a pretty useful feature to link an address to a credit card given how common the credit card + billing address combo is.

This did get me thinking a bit more deeply about 1Password's link features, which I've so far not used all that much because I didn't find too much use for them. There's likely other situation like the address <-> credit card relationship that I'm not thinking of that could benefit from some sort of special behavior from the linking. It seems like 1Password has a pretty robust and organized model of fields, so maybe even linking fields from one item to another would make sense? It might also be interesting to expand upon the concept of a link. Maybe one could create a "unique set of tags" like {"home", "current"} so that you could link something to "my current home address" and then use that uniqueness as a link.

1. I'm making the assumption that an identity ≈ a billing address. Since a single person can have multiple addresses (e.g. a work billing address and home address) maybe Address should be distinct from Identity?

Hey @justanothernumber,

Currently you would need to fill your Credit Card item for the card details and then fill your Identity Item for the address details. You are right there is no way to link the two but I definitely understand where you are coming form and can see the room for improvement in this area.
