Scan QR Code bug on EpicGames

In the process of migrating most of my 2FA accounts to 1P and noticed that the scanner fails on: https://www.epicgames.com/account/

Most other sites i've tried worked fine though. I've attempted this with light mode and dark mode on the website, zoomed in/out too.

I can provide an example screenshot but that would just involve me blanking out various details anyway 🙃

Edit:
These also failed to scan:

https://www.runescape.com/
https://accounts.firefox.com/

  • Hello @Ogami,

Thanks for your message and sorry for the troubles you've encountered when trying to scan the QR codes for 2fa with both Epic Games and Runescape. I've filed these with the team.

As a workaround, you can try scanning the QR code with 1Password another device such as 1Password for iOS or Android, or follow the steps here to instead copy the string of characters into the OTP field, if one is provided by the website.

With regard to accounts.firefox.com, I've tried to reproduce this from both the 2fa Watchtower banner and by editing the item > + add more > One-Time Password, but see no issues with scanning the QR code. Could let us know what message you are receiving when attempting the scan?

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

It's not an issue for me as I added them manually 👍

I had 2 dozen 2FA accounts that I successfully moved into 1P except those so I figured I'd report it to help out a bit that's all. It's a pretty swish app!

  • Hello again @Ogami,

Thanks for your reply and the kind words - I'm to hear you're enjoying 1Password. 😊

I'm happy to hear all worked out in the end with adding those 2fa accounts, but we appreciate your of report of the behaviour you experienced so I could pass that along to the team.

Let us know if we can be of further assistance!
