Is there a way to identify which key corresponds to which key on the 2FA settings page after they've been registered? I have two Yubikeys registered on 1Password... However, a simple sleight of hand resulted in me not being able to tell which is the primary and which is the back up. Thank you.

  • Hi @lodaka

Is there a way to identify which key corresponds to which key on the 2FA settings page after they've been registered?

When adding a key to your 1Password account you can give it a nickname so that it is more easily identifiable. If you've already added the keys, you'd need to remove and re-add them to get that prompt again.

which is the primary and which is the back up

To clarify: 1Password doesn't make a distinction distinction between a primary and a backup — all keys have the same standing and function.

@Ben, understood. Thanks for your reply. I figured removing / replacing was the only way to go.

As for why I need to make a distinction... if I lose one of the keys, I don't want to remove the wrong by mistake (and get locked out somehow haha)! I suppose you can get around that by removing all and re-registering the "surviving" one.

    Thanks again for confirming.
