Require 2FA on Next Sign-in -- where?

I've successfully set up 2FA (two devices), and I can use 2FA fine. Upon changing some detail I'd like to verify if I can successfully use my 2FA.

The support article below describes an option to require 2FA on the next sign-in:
https://support.1password.com/two-factor-authentication/#view-and-manage-trusted-devices

But that option doesn't exist for me.

In the https://my.1password.com/profile/2fa I can see my 2nd factors listed, but I only see an option to remove them -- or remove 2FA altogether.

Is it possible to force a 2FA authentication?

Thanks,
peter.

  • Hi @peter2323, thanks for your question.

You can require 2FA sign in from 1Password.com. This is done per device or browser, not universally. So if you're using 1Password for Windows you can set your 2FA to be required on the next sign in there but it won't be required anywhere else you use 1Password. You can set 2FA to be required with these steps:
    1. Sign in on 1Password.com
    2. Click your name in the sidebar > My Profile.
    3. Click the cog icon next to a device or browser entry.
    4. Click Require 2FA on Next Sign-in.

Let us know if that works for you!

Ohhh, this is done per device -- that makes more sense now, thanks!
