[New Subscriber] Questions about 1Password
I have been a 1Password4 user for quite awhile, and finally made the jump to the latest 1Password.
Ran into a few questions as I was importing and setting everything up.
I know we are given 1GB for document storage. But I cannot find where in my account the amount of storage I am currently using/How much free space I have left.
I know in older versions, when you saved password data, it would often keep/save other form details. Some login forms are more than just a Username/Password, but have other ID's/details that are required/asked during the login. Where is this kept in the new 1Password? It does not show the form data, outside of just username and password. In the Windows app, editing the entry, also does not show it. It only shows username and password.
But it seems to have been saved (during my import) as when I login to a site, it fills in all 3 fields just fine. But if I were to need to edit it in the future, or add new login entries, how do I go about saving it/verifying it was saved correctly?
- Whenever I add/save 2FA into an entry, it keeps creating a new blank security Section. Is this normal? I keep having to delete it everytime. I have attached a screenshot of what it looks like
Thank you

Hello,
For your fisrt question, take a look here : https://1password.community/discussion/137555/how-do-i-view-my-account-storage-status
For your second question, 1Password shows all details of the items.
Example (Identity Item), some details:For each type of item, you can add the elements you want.
Everything is visible in the application and in the extension
Since the February 14 update, you can reorder sections and fields when editing an item.0 -
Hello @PrinceZuko,
Thanks for your questions. We appreciate the assistance here with the link and details provided, @EKalb.
Regarding question 1, please reach out as directed in that thread should you have further concerns. In the meantime, I've submitted a feature request to the Product team so they can investigate a better way to view your storage capacity.

You also mentioned a login filling all three fields just fine. It sounds like you are referring to a login item that fills a total of three credential fields such as an account number, username and password. Am I understanding correctly? If this is the case when reviewing the item in the 1Password 8 for Windows app verses on 1Password.com, do you see a difference there? Any screenshots you can provide would be helpful for understanding what fields you are not seeing.
Here is a handy guide on how to take screenshots on different platforms: https://www.take-a-screenshot.org - When sending a screenshot, please be sure to redact any personal or private information.

Do you see the same behaviour when following our guide to, Use 1Password as an authenticator for sites with two-factor authentication?
Could you provide a list steps you use when adding 2fa (or and One-time Password field) to an item and the Security field appears? We'd like to investigate further.
Looking forward to your reply.

Terribly sorry for the late reply

that is all it shows. And the security questions below that. that is it
When I check the app, or on 1password.com, it does not list the 3rd field that it fills in. It is not part of the options, doesn't show in the extra settings below the user/pwd fields (where you can add custom fields, etc). But yet, when I go to fill out the user/pwd with 1P, it fills in all 3 fields.
I think something carried over from when I upgraded (I used to be on 1password4 or something like that). I remember it showing the 3rd field as part of the options.
So this makes it hard to update if I were to change the PIN or whatever. Or if I want to add a new login for a site that also has a 3rd field that needs to be filled in. or I have to manually enter in the 3rd field.

I literally take those steps mentioned in the link. I bring up the QR window, go to browser extension (or even the windows app), then click the scan window, then save.

Thank you for the reply. It sounds like those fields are part of something called web form details. Web form details were primarily intended to be used by our algorithm to aid in filling information into the browser so we decided to remove web form details by default in order to maintain the simplicity of the user interface. However we know that some people do use web form details to store and retrieve information so you can enable the display of web form details in 1Password 8 by following these instructions:
- Open and unlock the 1Password app.
- Click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and click Settings.
- Click on Advanced.
- Check "Show Auto-Saved Web Details".
Going forward, I recommend that you add additional fields as a custom field rather than using web form details: Customize your 1Password items
Let me know if that doesn't work. Once I hear back from you we can dig deeper on the empty Security section that you mentioned. 🙂

Thanks, was able to see it now. I can just turn it on and off as needed.
Yeah, I mainly use the Custom Fields for extra details regarding the site/etc. and I been using it accordingly. But every once in awhile, I find a site that uses these extra details as part of the actual login. The Username/Password/PIN is required to login so I need to make sure I can add it if 1P doesn't pick it up or if I need to change it (say I change the PIN for the login)
