I think i have lots of old passwords which i dont really use anymore. Does 1Password have a feature to show me when was the last time I used a password, or be able to sort by last used, so I can delete old passwords? It would be good to also have like an area where it shows me old passwords not used for a while, so either i can delete them or change them.

1Password Version: 8.10.3
Extension Version: Version 2.8.1
OS Version: Windows 11
Browser:_ Edge

  • Hello @sp0ck,

Thanks for your question. We don't have a search filter to review Login items by last used. The current sorting options can be seen here:

I've included your feedback to the Product team indicating that you would like to see some additional sorting options for last used or age of items.

It's a best practice to always use strong, unique passwords for each item you have saved in 1Password. While not exactly what you are looking for, you can, Use Watchtower to find passwords you need to change. Then, Use the password generator to change and strengthen your passwords.

I hope this information helps, but if you need further assistance, just let us know. We'll be here for you.

@ag_mike_d The sort menu you show includes a "Recently used" item, which suggests it implements what @sp0ck asked. However, this sorting doesn't work. Actually, it seems to sort according how items were used within the desktop app since sign-in only. A local and not cloud-synced date value. If I use an item on a different device or with the browser plugin for autofill, the "recently used" date isn't updated within the desktop app. It seems it's a completely local and not cloud-synced value.

For example, I have several items that show up as "never used", but I definitely used them with autofill from the browser plugin. Just tried: still the case. For example, my "Reddit" item, last modified 2021, shows up as "never used", but I definitely used it, last time was today.

  • Hi @Tertius3,

Thanks for getting back to me. The items in recently used will indicate those items on a per device basis. I'm not personally seeing any issues when signing out and back into 1Password 8 for Windows.

Title and date modified/created pull from the meta data of the item and are available across devices.

I'm seeing the same thing. As you auto-filled from the browser, this was not recently used in the app and continues to appear as never used. If you try opening and filling this item by clicking on the URL in the item detail window and re-sort by recently used, that item should then appear in at the top of the list. Could you confirm? Thanks!

@ag_mike_d Yes, I confirm. This is exactly the behavior I observe here as well.

It would be nice if the last use information was synced across devices. The way it is currently has limited usefulness.

    Happy to help, @sp0ck! 👍

@Tertius3 - Thanks for confirming. I can see where syncing all of this data across devices would make these features more useful. I'll pass your feedback along to the team for consideration.

Please let us know if you have any further concerns.
