Poor Safari extension performance after macOS 13.3 upgrade
Good afternoon:
After upgrading my iMac from macOS 13.2 to 13.3, I noticed a tremendous slowdown in the Safari extension's performance. Clicking the 1Password extension in the Safari toolbar "feels" slow, like there's a small wait before the extension renders. I have the "show app and website icons" setting disabled, it gets worse with that enabled.
Clicking the "New Item" button is especially bad, the extension's window jerkily renders and sloooowly resizes before allowing any interaction. I've posted a tiny video on YouTube that shows the problem in action: https://www.youtube.com/embed/u5mJM6uYmic
The OS installation was a clean install, meaning I securely erased the SSD, booted from an external OS installation disk and re-installed macOS 13.3 from scratch. Updating to 13.3.1 today had no effect on the slowness.
Performance was significantly better on macOS 13.2. I don't have the 1Password app installed, only the "1Password for Safari" extension from the App Store https://apps.apple.com/us/app/1password-for-safari/id1569813296?mt=12
iMac specs:
- Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2017 (iMac18,2)
- Intel Core i5 (3.4 GHz)
- 32 GB RAM
- Radeon Pro 560 graphics chipset

Hey @JasonPratt,
I'm sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
I think it would be useful if we could delve deeper into the performance issues you are seeing with 1Password for Safari since upgrading your MacOS.
I'd like to ask you to send over a console log from your browser as well as a diagnostics report:
Please attach the reports to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com with a link to this thread.
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!
