winssh-pageant does not work after last update
Hi.
I had been using winssh-pageant for WinSCP and Putty key authentication with the startup argument of --no-pageant-pipe (see here for example https://1password.community/discussion/129031/despite-what-the-documentation-says-1password-agent-is-compatible-with-putty-pageant) until the last 1Password update (8.10.4). Since the last 1Password update, I am not able to use it any longer and I get "No supported authentication methods available".
Any idea why, please?

Any advice, please? Or is there any other way how to integrate 1Password SSH keys with Putty and WinSCP?

We've introduced functionality to suppress prompts for SSH requests that come from background apps, to avoid unexpected prompts showing up (e.g. IDE performing a background Git fetch while you're watching a movie). You can still manually bring up these prompts from the 1Password system tray icon.
That said, there might be a false positive in the background app detection for
winssh-pageant
. We'll try to reproduce this so we can fix it.0 -
That was it. Thank you! I did not notice that the tray icon actually has a red dot on it. When I clicked the icon, I could see a SSH key request. I authorized it and successfully authenticated.

After I restarted my computer, it behaves the same. Even when I authorized the app to use SSH keys, after the computer restart, it asks again for authorization. Is that expected behavior?

Hey. I have another issue. Now it is saying "No supported authentication methods available". I have not changed anything. I don't know when the issue appeared, but I have been seeing this for a week approximately. WinSSH-Pageant bridge is running in processes.
Any idea what could be wrong, please?

Anybody, please?

I found out that apparently Putty with WinSSH-Pageant cannot request authorization from 1Password for SSH key usage. When I run SSH from Windows Terminal, it asks for authorization as expected and works fine. Putty is not able to do the same. But when I run SSH from Windows Terminal first and then try Putty, it works because I have already authorized all apps via Windows Terminal.

We have fixed the false positive for background detection for
winssh-pageant
. Does it work for you now?0 -
Yes, I confirm that after the last update, it works as expected. Thank you!
