Autofill doesn't trigger on name fields

Tested on https://fill.dev/form/identity-simple

The 1Password extension does not suggest name autofill when clicking on name fields. Only when clicking on the address fields does autofill get triggered. Once the address is autofilled, then the name shows up.

When using autofill on a form that only has name fields, due to this behavior the autofill does not work (as there is no address field to trigger the autofill).

I know it's possible to manually trigger it by going to the extension menu, but if the extension were working as expected it would trigger the autofill on name fields.

  • Hey @kchou94,

Currently the inline menu will only show for certain details saved within an identity item such as your address or email address. In order to fill other details such as your name or phone number you will need to click on the 1Password icon in your browser toolbar and choose 'Autofill' next to the identity item.

The reason behind this is because we didn't want to make 1Password appear too intrusive by showing up on every field on every page so we leave it down to the user to choose to fill.

That being said, names being filled from the inline menu is something we have seen requests for and we are working hard to improve this behaviour in a future update.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

I see this is the intended behavior. Thanks for the quick follow-up @steph.giles !
