1Password locking when you close it's window with the red x

If I close the 1Password window with the red circle (x) in the upper left corner of its window, it now locks. This just started with Beta 81007001. Before this latest Beta, if I closed the 1Password window, I could reopen it without having to sign on again.

1Password Version: 81007001
Extension Version: 2.10.0
OS Version: Ventura 13.3.1 (a)

  • Hi there @sfiske

Window handling was changed in this new beta:

We’ve improved the experience of quitting 1Password for Mac so the icon stays in the menu bar when you quit from the main window.

As a result, if you have "Keep 1Password in the menu bar" turned off in Settings > General, 1Password will quit (and therefore lock) when its last open window is closed. With that setting turned on, closing all of 1Password's windows, or choosing Quit in the 1Password menu will keep 1Password unlocked in line with your auto-lock settings.

Check to see if that setting is on or off and let me know how things go. :)

That fixed it. Menu bar setting was off. Thank you, Grey.

  • @sfiske – Great! We'll be here if you need anything. :)
