Filling passwords using Touch ID

I used 1Password "back in the day", a year or two after the launch.
Used it for a few years, then went over to Apple Keychain.

Keychain is hassle free, it's just there.
Software licenses and other stuff is in locked Apple Notes (Just wish it was possible to lock Notes containing files).
Keychain working in the background is fine, and it's not often I need to lock up a password or a locked note.

However, something is missing.

I like the idea of have everything in one place.
So after the release of 1Password 8, going back to 1Password seemed like an good option.

Problem is, I like everything to be as simple and convenient as possible.
I've tried 1Password at least ten times the last year.
Created an account, installed the apps, going trough the settings, trying it out for a short time, then uninstall, delete the account and go back to Keychain/Notes. A couple of weeks later, the same procedure again.

1Password is so close, but the "problem" for me is that it takes to many steps to login, especially on my Mac.
After hitting "Log In" on a website, Keychain will often automatically be ready, just need to press Touch ID.

I know this is nitpicking, (I probably have some kind of disorder...), and a very "first world problem", but the two-three extra steps it takes to login with 1Password compared to Keychain is what's holding me back from switching.

Two questions:

1: Am I doing something wrong, or missing something, something I've overlooked?

2: Is it possible to login to websites using Touch ID with 1Password?

Thanks!
