password needed each time on iMac desktop, Work around with 2FA?

Hi there @Wadley
If you have two-factor authentication turned on for your 1Password account, it's used as an extra layer of protection when signing in for the first time on a new device or browser. A one-time password generated by an authenticator app isn't able to decrypt your 1Password data on your Mac – it's only used to check that you are who you say you are (authentication) when signing in.
All of your 1Password data is kept fully encrypted on your Mac's disk, so you'll need to use your account password to unlock it. To help with this, you have some options to explore:
- Change how long 1Password stays unlocked
- If your Mac has Touch ID, use Touch ID to unlock 1Password on your Mac
- If you have an Apple Watch (and a supported Mac – see list at bottom of article), use your Apple Watch to unlock 1Password on your Mac
I hope that answers your question fully, but please do let me know if I can be of any further help. :)
