Allow emergency access for next of kin
Hi,
I keep almost everything of digital value centralized in 1Password. Taxes, accounts, Social security, passwords... all that.
In case of accident, I want my sister to be able to access my 1PassWord account so she can sort out what needs sorting out.
I saw this thread from almost a decade ago and wondered if the advice still stands?

My sister won't need regular access to my account. It's just for emergencies, though I trust her 100% with my account credentials.
Any suggestions as to the best, simplest way to make this possible?
Thanks,
Patrick

Hi @patrickgilmour,
I think the advice found within the above thread is still relevant, We don't have any specific features for giving access to your account if you should pass but you can create a physical copy of your Emergency Kit with all of the details required to access your account and keep this as part of your will or stored in a known safe place so it can be given to a family member.
Another option would be if you have a Family membership, if you're the organiser you can make someone else the organiser as well who can gain access to your account if you should pass, though you'll need to also create a shared vault for just you and them with your email log in item as they would need access to your emails in order to regain access to your account.
For more information on account recovery you can find it here:

Thanks @ag_josephine !
Appreciate your answer.
I'll send my sister the 1Password Emergency Kit, then get the account password to her by a different route.
