Does latest 1Password app software not come with subscription?
I am a 1Password Family subscriber. When I open 1Password on the mac, I have a message in the left bottom corner about "Save 50% for 3 years on 1Password 8" and an Upgrade now button.
Do I not get the latest 1Password software with my subscription? Trying to understand why you would make the software a purchase separate from the subscription.

I don't understand this licensing/subscription model at all.

1Password 8 is a separate app, however it uses the same membership and login info as your 1Password 7 subscription - with a 1Password membership you'll never need to pay extra to upgrade.
