Impossible to install 1pasword 8 for Windows
Error message was displayed when the app tried to automatically upgrade to 1password 8. Then I uninstalled previous version, I downloaded the most updated 1password from the website, tried to install and the same error message pops up. So now I have no 1password version installed, none is allowed to be installed.

Hello @Javier_GH,
I'm sorry for the troubles you've encountered when the automatic upgrade attempt 1Password 8 failed.
Could let us know what error message you are receiving? Commonly we see installation issues when customer are using security software on their device. Does restarting Windows in Safe Mode with Networking Enabled and then trying to download/install 1Password for Windows help with this behaviour?
In the meantime, if you have a 1Password account, you can access and fill your credentials with 1Password in the browser.
Looking forward to your reply.

Hi again,
I restarted Windows in Safe Mode and then the installatino of 1password was succesful.
Back to standard Windows mode it keeps running properly, so this issue seems to be solved. Thanks so much

Hello @Javier_GH,
I'm happy to hear safe mode helped, but you may run in to this situation again in the future.
Safe mode disables other software such as antivirus or anti-malware that may be locking down the 1Password folder and preventing the installation or update. I would suggest looking at any security software you use and follow their support documentation to exclude the
1Password.exe
from scans. You can find the.exe
here:C:\Users\%username%\Appdata\Local\1Password\app\8
I hope this information helps, but if you need further assistance, just let us know. We'll be here for you!
