$SSH_AUTH_SOCK on macOS 13.4 and fish shell

I'm struggling to set $SSH_AUTH_SOCK on macOS 13.4. Using fish shell. It looks like $SSH_AUTH_SOCK is being set by a launchd job (com.openssh.ssh-agent) which I can't disable. fish shell doesn't let me set the environment variable as it is shadowed by the global one set presumably via launchd.

Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.
