Passkey for 1Password account

I just got the beta iOS app and followed the instructions to setup a passkey using my iPhone. I mistakenly set it up under 1Password.com, while my account was created under 1Password.ca. All seems to work properly from my iOS device (all my passwords are there). But when I try to do the same from my Mac (for 1Password.com) using Brave or Safari, I manage to get the QR code and authenticate using my iPhone, but then, nothing happens on the Mac's browser (spinning wheel). I dont get a code. If I attempt the same on my Mac for 1Password.ca, it does not offer the passkey option, just signs in as usual.

Question 1: Does it matter if I set up passkey under 1Password.com or 1Password.ca?
Question 2: How can I get 1Password.ca passkey setup, or should I just use 1Password.com from now on?

Thank you,
Paul

  • Hi @pjboud

At this time in the private beta of creating and unlocking a 1Password account with a passkey, this is limited to 1Password.com. Creating the account on 1Password.eu or 1Password.ca is not yet available in the private beta and should continue using the new account created on 1Password.com.

The new test account you sign up with for this private beta is a free to set up and use during the private beta period. You should treat it as a temporary account, and use it alongside your existing account on 1Password.ca.

Also you mention some trouble signing in on 1Password.com on your Mac; Could you try restarting your Mac then try signing in to your account again, keeping 1Password open on your iPhone until the entire sign in process is completed?
